Yesterday was Johnny Depp's birthday.
He gives some soulful and moving advice in this clip and waxes poetic of his perfectly worn in (vintage) boots.
Happy Birthday Baby.......

BEST VINTAGE FASHION AT DEMF 2009
STYLE MAKERS AT DETROIT'S ELECTRONIC MUSIC FESTIVAL:

The first of my two favorite outfits.
What a little hottie~~~1960s/70s Saks Fifth Avenue vintage dress and navy quilted bag, both purchased from Lost and Found Vintage (Royal Oak, MI)
She was so savvy and creative to add the pink feather accessory in her hair!!!

This gal was also my absolute favorite....1950s vintage/bathing suit paired with purple tights and red 1980s shoes, not to mention her fierce neon orange manicure~~~ WHAT BOLD STYLE!

I met Levon while he was circulating the music festival with a wonderful petition to encourage Detroit to recycle!
He amplified his belief in living green by wearing a recycled accessory: a fantastic red vintage paisley bandanna with metallic threads....

HOT. This guy stole my heart with his completely unique choice to wear U.S. NAVY gear with some All-American Chuck's...apparently he inherited the amazing one-piece from an older co-worker. Props for the boys who love vintage!!!

R2D2 with turntable and cassette player~Wish that PHANTOM LADY had posed for a photo with him!

PHANTOM LADY rockin to the beats of Steve Bug wearing my 1960s/70s Hawaiian "MALIA OF HONOLULU" dress, with a vintage 1930s brass and black glass necklace.
I bought my dress from a co-worker when I was working at Crossroads (Oakland, CA) way back in 2000!

Mix of vintage and artist-made...Lady in the blue proclaimed that a friend made her dress, I suspect all out of circa 1970s vintage fabric.
Her friend is rockin a great 1980s look: a signature b/w houndstooth print shirt under a pink corset with metallic pink leotard and two really cool plastic/metal low rider belts.

Lovely dancing lady in a vintage beaded/sequined 1980s "butterfly" top.

Cute lady from London with a 1990s Chanel-inspired purse, Jackie-O sunglasses and a fabulous vintage belt.

May 19, 2009.
PHANTOM LADY can never resist a little evening window-shopping. Yummy designer vintage in downtown Birmingham.

PHANTOM LADY

May 19, 2009.
PHANTOM LADY wears a circa 1960s/70s "Malia of Honolulu" dress with Joe's jeans underneath. Vintage Italian leather studded boots, 1980s black leather Chanel bag and 1930s brass bib necklace.
LURTZIE

May 19, 2009.
One of the original founders of WOUND MENSWEAR a fashion company based in Detroit, Sarah Lurtz has always got something fantastic going on in the clothing department. On a night out in Motown, she wore a great vintage brown quilted Chanel bag with a classic jeans/white shirt combo.
Here's her twist. A vintage necklace, studded wooden bracelet and icing on the cake: A cute pinafore-like apron that she picked up while in Mexico City recently. We decided that the apron's brown/white gingham fabric complete with piping couldn't be anything else but polyester circa 1970s!

SANDRA
May 13, 2009.
Sandra is a metal arts teacher at the Evanston Art Center. She made her own beautiful copper buttons for this vintage jewel: a 1960's brown leather coat that she found at a rummage sale. The buttons are colored with a special heat patina technique that gives the copper a distinctive reddish pink tone.

MIDNIGHT TRAIN TO GEORGIA....

May 3, 2009
Met Morgana while waiting for the red line train at Fullerton. She got her KICKASS vintage leather boots in Georgia.
Southern comfort, worn and faded perfection!
